Ranthambore National Park is a most trending tourist destination in the north India which is established 13.5 km away from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. It was named after establishing Ranthambore Fort what lies in the forest. This is dry decedious forest and open grassy meadow what covers 1334 km2 area where flourishing most messmerising Bengal Tiger and Leopards. It is bounded by Banas river from north side and chambal river in south side of the forest. As per the Rajasthan Forest department's report the tigers move everywhere in the forest but 352 km2 area determined as a National Park in the year 1955 in which 275 km2 area believed core tiger reserve area and rest of the part is buffer area. In the core area tourists can get high chance to see the tigers during canter or jeep safari.
Ranthambore Fort is a symbol of proud history of Chauhan rulers that was built in the 10th century and it was also faced attack of Alauddin Khilji in 1303 and the legend royal women performed 'jauhar' (for the saving self respect, the women suicide to jump in the fire cistern) when their husbands died from invaders. The fort is characterised by temples, tanks, massive gates and huge walls that were constructed by Chauhan rulers in 944 AD, such as three temples built from red stones that devoted to shree Ganesh, Lord Shiva and Shree Ramlalaji. Along with there are jain temple also found that devoted to Sumatinatha and Sambhavanatha, it was built in 12th and 13th centuries.
Around the 15th century it was private property of the Jaipur king where he came with his soldiers to hunt the wild animals. Hunting was common hobby for every Kings in the entire world. Some people lived around the forest that were permitted to taken forest produces after paying the tax what collected by the jaipur's king. Becuase of richness of ranthambore wildlife, it never disturbed by hunting or local people.
Because of these activities the major problems created in the forest's vegetation during 20th century that were observed by the Indian Forest Department in the 1953 and they decided to safe forest's vegetation and wildlife and any kind of commercial activity was prohibited as the per government legal act. After two years they observed that Rajasthan forest department were unable to covering the entire part of forest but they got that forest's exploitation were going slow down because of their strategies, and it was announced ranthambore as part of the Sawai Madhopur in 1955. However, the tiger's population were disappearing slowly - slowly then Indian government ran a campaign for tiger conservation in which govt. will provide conservation to tiger under the 'Tiger Project'. It begun in 1973 and it is continuously going on yet
Rajasthan forest department shifted 12 villages from the sanctuary and that area mixed up with forest wildlife now this time the area comes under the Tiger Reserve Area where govt. conducting jungle safari. Now a days Ranthambore wildlife area is increasing flourishing continuously because of unstopable steps and stratagies of Rajasthan forest department.
Ranthambore National Park safari is most famous in the entire country. It provides you very high chance to see the Bengal Tiger and Leopards. Along with there are also flourishing varuious species of other animals such as deer, chital, sambhar, blackbuck, jungle cats, monkeys, Indian grey mongoose, Asian palm civet cat, etc. If you want book Ranthambore safari so you will have to book your safari 100 days prior at least. Ranthambore National Park divided into 10 parts which is known as 10 zones each zone is part of the tiger reserve area and each zone has own speciality such as jeep is permitted in some zones and some zones are canter permitted only, One jeep is 6 seater open vehical and canter has 20 seats capacity in one time which is similar to open. When you pay for jeep safari ticket or canter safari ticket it means you are paying for forest entry ticket, driver charges, guide charges that are mandetory for every tourist.
